BKS IYENGAR

B.K.S. Iyengar, affectionately known as Guruji, stands as a towering master in the realm of yoga, leaving an indelible mark on countless lives worldwide. Born in 1918 in Bellur, India, his journey to becoming one of the most influential yoga teachers of the modern era was marked by perseverance, dedication, and an unyielding commitment to his practice.

From a young age, Iyengar's encounter with yoga was serendipitous, initiated by his frail health and the guidance of his brother-in-law, Tirumalai Krishnamacharya, a revered yoga master. Despite his initial struggles and physical limitations, Iyengar immersed himself wholeheartedly in the practice, honing his skills with unwavering determination.

As his practice deepened, Iyengar's keen intellect and intuitive understanding of the human body propelled him to explore the intricate mechanics of each yoga posture.
